Ghana is a stable, growing West African market for medical consumables. Medical devices are regulated by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA Ghana), with conformity assessment supported by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA).
Medical devices require FDA Ghana registration before commercial import. The importer of record in Ghana holds the registration. SWIFTSKY provides the technical and certification documentation required for the application.
Typical documentation required from SWIFTSKY per product line:
Honest timeline note: First-time FDA Ghana product registration commonly takes 2โ6 months. The registration is the buyer's responsibility to hold before commercial import. We supply all documentation. We do not promise instant clearance.
The Ghana Standards Authority operates a conformity assessment programme for regulated imports. Where medical consumables fall under mandatory standards, a conformity certificate may be required at port. SWIFTSKY's pre-shipment inspection by SGS or Intertek supports this assessment where applicable.
